ColdFusion

ColdFusion is both an application server and a scripting language (CFML - ColdFusion Markup Language). It was originally developed by the Allaire brothers and sold and supported through their company. Macromedia purchased Allaire in 2001 and Macromedia ColdFusion 5 was the first release under the new brand name. ColdFusion MX - the complete, ground-up rewrite in Java, followed in 2002 with CFMX 6.1 (August 2003) and CFMX 7.0 (February 2005). The next major release of ColdFusion, codenamed "Scorpio" is currently in development for release "some time in 2007".
